Museum of Moving Image
Astoria / New York

2004-2005

The Museum's renovation and expansion was a private design competition won by Leeser Architecture. William was asked to manage and implement the scheme that included renovating 23,000 sf of the exisiting facility and integrating a 31,000 sf addition on their lot, formerly Paramount Studios in Astoria, New York.

Designed to maintain key permanent exhibition space, the addition was planned to incorporate screening rooms, collection storage, a changing exhibition area, a student center and a seasonal event space for outdoor screenings.

William worked closely with the Museum Director, curators and administration to develop the schematic design.

Ground breaking occured in 2008 and the project, although modified, retains the schematic approach to the renovation and expansion.
